Easter Day

This is a pic of cute little Aidan in his Peter Rabbit outfit the day before Easter - just so you can get the full effect of his Easter cuteness. Easter Day started bright and early for us as Alex came in at 6 am to gleefully inform me that the Easter Bunny had come. After church, we headed down to Nana and Papa's house. It's no surprise that both of the boys fell asleep on the way down.

Don't they just look like little angels? There's a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson that I like: "There was never a child so lovely but his mother was glad to get him to sleep." So true!
Doesn't Jon look handsome in his Easter best?
My smiley little baby enjoyed being outside while his big brother found eggs.
Alex loves Easter hunts. He even has me hide empty eggs around the house for him to find just for fun - he enjoys the hunt so much.
My mom made us a great dinner and we enjoyed the special day remembering our Savior's resurrection and being with family.

The Easter Egg Hunt

The day before Easter we continued our week of Easter fun with an egg hunt. It started pretty early - at 9 am sharp. We had to rush a little bit to make it, but it was sure fun.
Alex loved looking for the eggs (Jennie and Izzy have a cameo in this pic).
He pretty much filled up his basket.
Here are the triplets - the 3 cousins all born within 6 weeks of each other. It is fun to be close by and let them all develop friendships and do fun things together.
I just love my little Aidan - he is the best little cuddler - he will often just put his head down on my shoulder - it is so sweet!

Spring Time Fun

Alex loves to help me decorate the house for the holidays, and I always get some window clings that he can put on so he can be in charge of something.
Aidan was also quite intrigued with the decorations.
Alex did a great job putting up the stickers.
Aidan played with the Easter baskets - I love this picture where you can see he managed to get it over his head - it's kinda holding him captive.
Jon actually had Good Friday off, so we took the opportunity to go skiing one last time for the season.
After we all had our individual lessons, we went down the bunny hill a lot together as a family.
Alex is so good - he always beat me down the hill! He would just go straight down, while I go from side to side to control the speed. He has no fear - and he never fell! Our last run down, Jon came up behind me and grabbed onto me and led us straight down the hill James Bond style - it was a little scary, but quite the rush to feel the speed.

Easter Fun

Alex had the week before Easter off for Spring Break. We had lots of special Easter fun everyday (and we are still tired from it!). Monday we had cousin Hayden over and the boys got to cut out sugar cookies and decorate them. They had a great time!
They did really well taking turns.
They also helped me color the frosting.
At last, the awaited for moment where they actually got to eat the cookies came.
On Wednesday, we had our cousins Collin and Jackson over for some lightsaber fighting and egg decorating.
We also had some shrink wrap egg decorations that were really cool. They just looked like plastic that you put around the egg, then you dip the egg in boiling water and they tightened around the egg. They were my favorite.
After we cleaned the egg stuff up, the kids also got to frost some sugar cookies.
As always - the sprinkles are an important part of cookie decorating.
Alex had a great time with his cousins and let me know he was a "lucky boy". :)
